Climbing Mullayyana Giri with Tata Aria

Despite being close to my home town and Bengaluru, I’d hardly explored Chikka Mangalooru district in Karnataka. Known for its coffee plantations, Chikmangaloor also has couple of beautiful hilltops.

During my drive last week, we drove in Tata Aria, to the top of one such hill in Chikmangaloor, named Mullayyanagiri

It was evening when we reached Chickmangalur. After following Karnataka Tourism signages and taking help from locals, we started driving towards Mullayyanagiri. It was a narrow road and as we neared the top, the drive became more and more challenging & scary, due to narrower roads and scary view on the side. We stopped at few places for sunset photography, as I feared it will be dark by the time we reach top. Drive till top was fun-stopped at few places for photos and eventually reached till top. Scene of chik mangaloor town was nice. There was another 500meters to go by climbing the steps.

Below are some photos for your reference. Some of these pics were clicked by my fellow passengers- Raviraj and Vinay.

It appears Mullayanagiri is very close to Kemmannu Gundi, Hebbe falls and few other places. We couldn’t explore more as it was dark. Went to Kemmannugundi next day in a different route. There’re few other hills around Mullayyanagiri, need to explore them next.
