Japanese Peace Pagoda, Unawatuna, Srilanka

Srilanka is full of Pagodas but the Japanese Peace Pagoda in Unawatuna is one of the large and most popular ones. Pagodas are always white in colour and signify peace. It was almost dark when we reached there.

Pagoda has about four buddha statues along with explanation of Buddha's way of life. A Hanuman statue is also located nearby. View from the pagoda is nice, Galle light house, located on the other sid of the shore is visible from here

Certainly worth a short visit when in Galle area. Jungle beach is the other nearby attraction.
