Plantain Leaf Pure Veg Restaurant at Evolve Back Coorg

Plantain Leaf is a pure vegetarian restaurant inside Evolve Back Chikkanahalli estate, Coorg (formerly Orange County Coorg). During my 2 day stay, I had a lunch, a dinner and a breakfast here, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This post attempts to introduce you to the specialties of the Plantain Leaf Restaurant.

Plantain Leaf operates on a unique model- the main course is on order whereas starters and deserts are ala carte. Makes it lot more convenient. Main course is typically between two choices- South Indian Thali or North Indian Thali. The south Indian thali I tried looked majestic as seen below.

During dinner, a musician gave us company. Chat items are available during the dinner. Though not listed on the menu or kept on exhibit, tender coconut water is also available on demand in Plantain Leaf.

For breakfast, over 12 varieties of dosa are made to order, along with an assortment of idlies and various south indian snacks, plus few western items such as donuts, breads and corn flakes.
Chef Chandi keeps shuttling between the 3 restaurants of the Evolve back resorts, supervising things, saying hi to guests, checking if everything is in order.
Plantain leaf offers both outdoor and indoor seating. Prior reservation is required, as the meals are prepared only based on guest booking.
