Fun with discount stickers!

This morning I bought couple of trousers at Hi-Style in Chennai. They took some time to stick the legs (of trousers) while I waited in a corner. That corner had lots of stickers meant to promote various kinds of discounts. In order to kill time, I arranged those discount stickers in various orders and clicked some photos from my phone. This post simply shares those posts and some gyan to go with it. Browse through the photos and read the text inline, it will be quick and won't take too much of your time.

Kisme kitna hai dum? Utna discount denge hum!

What you see on the right side is an empty poster, into which you can print whatever offer you have in mind. Do you know what gets decided even before the offer is decided? The text "Terms and conditions apply, VAT Extra" That's what is written in the bottom left corner of that empty sticker!

Types of discounts!
FLAT (Ex: Flat Rs 395).. You will get a flat at this price.. Sorry, it means fixed price and subtly warns, "It is already discounted, don't bargain anymore"

onwards (Ex: 495 onwards): This means there will be one unwanted, unsold item that nobody wants listed at this minimum price. Everything else will cost more. Idea is to make you look into the collection because it is appears cheap and then make you pickup more expensive items

Up to % (Ex: Up to 50%): This means there will be one unwanted, unsold item that nobody wants listed at this much % discount. Everything else will have much lesser discount. Idea is to make you look into the collection because it is appears cheap and then make you pickup more expensive items.

Before and After: To help you understand how much you'll save- the price that was silently hiked before the same is called 'Before', the price you will pay thinking you saved a lot is called 'After'
Stickers come in various formats. While I was busy with my photo session store staff were confused what I was doing. Couple of times they came and asked if they can help me. I asked them to get my pants ready asap, they left confused!
